    Autolite Battery Cover

The cheaper covers tend to warp a little from the tie down and heat. Battery post holes may also be a little off because of who made the battery. I seen some of the better covers where the cell caps unscrew and the red lettering is the shade.

    DIY Front Suspension

Did the poor man, urethane bushings on the spring perches on both our 67 and 72. Cheaper and free moving as rollers in my opinion. Just drilled and added grease fitting. Always had problem with top shock bushing being pulled off center using stock rubber perch bushings on our 72. Much better...

    Electric power steering pump ?

ESP is on demand and doesn't need a lot of amps on small turns. I would think a electric pump need far more amps to reach 700/800 psi. I'm kind of sold on the ESP idea if I was to do it over. One less pulley to turn using engine power and is adjustable to how much assist you would like.

    Power Steering Fluid

I just finished rebuilding the Saginaw with faster ratio inners and installed with type F. Never had problems using what ford recommended since type F was designed to reduce foaming in case of cavitation in their A/T and power steering.

Help. New KYB front shocks shorter than old KYB front shocks (picture added)

Glad that worked you. I tried using washers hoping so the top bushing wasn't pulled down thru the top mounting hole. They would just split instead of being pulled thru. I even tried larger diameter bushings . Made some homemade shock extensions for KYB's whatever number they were.... after...

Help. New KYB front shocks shorter than old KYB front shocks (picture added)

I said it before and say it again. Today replacement shocks are shorter when fully extended than what was OEM. That is why our rubber shock bushing are crushed when lifted.......... To much downward spring load left over......

    Reaching a Milestone

Hard to say. Back 1995 when I started restoring my 72 mach it took 3 cars to make one, so yes I still have a lot of left over parts and harnesses. By 2000 when I finally got it on the road, you didn't see many 71-73 running around here in the northeast yet. Today there are a few more, but still...

    lifting car and suspension damage

Well one thing I notice is a lot of today's said to fit shocks are shorter when fully extended. That put more down load on the shock bushings when hanging. There is a simple fix that. That tool isn't the answer.
