73 Mustang Mach 1 Vinyl Top Rarity

Here are two 73's with vinyl 3/4 roofs. The blue mach 1 was originally gold glow with a ginger interior, exactly like the gold one pictured, two different machs. The blue one was a T5, German export. Strange, I have owned more vinyl top 73 machs than without:chin:

    Missed it by that much!

One other thing of interest...there were 4 guys with trailers that showed up while I was talking with the new owner. They were obviously flippers. I talked with two of them and they admitted to wanting to make some money off this one. 2 were trying by it from the new owner right there! ZERO CLASS!!

    Missed it by that much!

Found a 73 mach 1 on tacoma craigslist last night for $1500, needing restoration of course had very little rust and a super straight body. I made the drive very early this morning to be the first to see it. As my luck usually works I was second in line and the first guy bought...

    351 Boss Oil Pan

Very interesting info::thumb:: I have learned something new. Thanks for all in the input. You can run 6 qts, there is no difference in volume between the pans. The windage baffle is a good thing and does provide protection from splashing by the crank rotation and the more oil that is in the pan...

    351 Boss Oil Pan

It says production pan with welded in windage baffle 4V and CJ for 71. Isnt that what the others are or did I miss something....again? :)

    351 Boss Oil Pan

According to that chart, all 4V engines received the windage baffled "CJ" pan. That is interesting. Anyone have access to ford parts books/microfiche? That would be another good source to see if the part numbers are the same across the board for 4V engines.

    351 Boss Oil Pan

Some very interesting finds! This probably boils down to parts availability for those 72 and newer cars, not sure why the 71's had them, very cool. I know for certain the windage baffled pans did not come on every CJ, 4V engine as I have had 4 original Torino/Montego CJ cars, 2 CJ mach's and 2...

1973 Mach 1 Hood Paint Question

You could have the hood paint option on a non ram air car. Here is a pic of my original paint 73 back in 83. (Edit: just noticed mine has the requisite locks)

    351 Boss Oil Pan

The picture you are showing is a Boss 351 pan. Baffle B is unique to the Boss/H.O. cleveland. ALL other cleveland engines, regardless of it was an H, M or Q code, received the same pan only without the windage baffle. They just had baffle A.
