listen after reading all of this im glad i live where i do, iv built severl motors for around $3000, this includes forged pistons, rods crank being turned, new heads being rebuilt with feirera ss valves, comp cam, springs, rings, bearings, gaskets, even the machine work on block and heads for 3...

thanks for the comment on mine and my dads car, he mentioned evrything but the paint scheme, so ill fill you in, its oringialy grabber blue but new of coarse, with mach 1 hood stripe and 69 shelby gt 500 stripes on the side all sripes hand painted no pin stripes or decals....the stripes are...

i use a mini high torque starter on my cleveland and it works great, but unless you have a lot of compression i would use a stock one....... just my opinion, they can be expensive just to have one..

my opinion is ask yourself what are my funds? complete rebuild is the way to go if you have time and money, remember that the short block assembly can get expensive quick with unexpected problems with which way you may want to go, i have went both ways with motors in the past, it all boils down...

iv narrowed it down as far as i know and it has got to be the torque convertor or the the fly wheel.....iv checked all the above and all is good there.. maybe i can get some time soon and pull the tranny to check convertor and or the flywheel.. thanks for all the advise guys......oh by the way...

if this is so wouldnt the timing mark be out? because i thought i looked at that....and the timeing had not changed.

here is the question i have been bugged about on one of my cars. i have a bad vibration in the drive train, i checked the rear end and all is well in that department, i put new tires and wheels on it still have the vibration, i replaced the drive shaft and still a vibrations, motor at idle does...

just a thought but to distinguish if its a possi or open carrier, gear counting will generally not help..... you can spin the drivers side rear tire and if the passenger side spins in the same direction you have a possi unit, if you spin the drivers side and the passenger side goes the opposite...
