    Converting drum to disc kits

Got mine done a few years ago, I also used the type that used the drum spindles with an adapter plate for the calipers. I paid a brake shop to do the work for me. The kit used the same brake pedal, but required a new hole be drilled in it about an inch lower for a pin to be placed in it that...

suggestion on how to remove mirror

Legend has it that the original poster ramair is still out in his garage to this very day turning the screw round and round and round and round with his screwdriver.....

Parts Wanted 71-72 front urethane bumper

Wonderful that the 7173 community has come through for you to get you a new bumper! If you are reusing the main bracket I would be checking that out for damage as well when you disassemble the bumper from the bracket. I noted recently that brand new main brackets are available for our cars. I...

Parts Wanted 71-72 front urethane bumper

To me your bumper looks like it has taken a hit to the front at some stage and which has "flattened" the angle. I say that because the one currently on my car looks similar, it's been pushed back about an inch in the centre and the unnatural backwards bend has caused slight distortions elsewhere...

1971 4 speed top loader Reverse Lock Out

There's a brand new one for sale on ebay, but you are going to pay a pretty penny by the time it is delivered here to Australia. >>>>> Lock out rod link <<<<< I have a three speed toploader in my car, I removed my lock out rod on purpose, didn't like my car dictating to me the conditions for...

    Crusing the boulevard

Heck no, I don't mind, if somebody says they are hanging up a photo that I've added colour to then it usually means I have done a decent job with the colouring! For this one I actually pulled a 1972 Mustang colour chart from the web and placed it next to the photo while I was working on it to...

What AI did to my car......

I use Corel PhotoPaint x7. Here is another version, some colour temperature changes to make the photo more moody, and cropped somewhat to emphasise the car and to de-emphasise the lighting inconsistencies.

Boss 351 was one of the best muscle cars of its time - internet article

An interesting approach to an article, where the headline is "10 Reasons The 1971 Ford Mustang Boss 351 Was One Of The Best Muscle Cars Of Its Time" and yet two of the reasons listed ("Could You Daily A Boss 351" and "Ford’s Compromising Style") deliberately refer to the Boss as "a fat pig" and...

What AI did to my car......

It's just occurred to me that, with the new image retaining the car shape and shadows and perspective, with a bit of cut and pasting we can easily transfer our own car over the top of the AI car and into the AI generated background to give quite a dramatic result. Here is your car moved to the...

    Guess the weight

Online it estimates the 302W and 351W weight difference is about 50lbs, so unless a 1971 351W car had some beefier componentry elsewhere on the car, then that would still seem to indicate a 1971 Mach 1 is lighter than a 1970 Mach1.

What AI did to my car......

Valiant fins were the first thing I thought of too! And although it's not clear from the rendering, it kind of looks like it would have a tinted glass roof too.

    Guess the weight

    So, a 1971 Mach 1 is 179 pounds lighter than a 1970 Mach 1 ? Am I reading that right?

What AI did to my car......

Top photo is how my car is, bottom photo is how an AI generator (PromeAI) envisions it. I.....kind of....like it? Should I get out the angle grinder and attempt a new resto-mod.....????

Old pics of the one I wish I still had 😢

My biggest regret was selling my 1975 XB GS Fairmont. I sold it in 1998 for $2000 Aussie dollars and at the time I was a little bemused that nobody here really seemed to want these old "Mad Max" cars. About two years after I sold it I noticed the prices for them suddenly started to rise, and...

Old pics of the one I wish I still had 😢

Absolutely stunning car, beautiful in red - a lot of us have regrets about selling decisions that we made over the years..... :( Here is another Torino owned by a work colleague, photo taken just before last xmas at the yearly employee car show. The paint on this car is from factory, a real...

    Roll up windows

Ha, yes my Sprint is still identifying as an American school bus, though down here in Australia our school buses are just normal coaches of any old colour so my car never gets mistaken for one. I didn't know my car was a Sprint when I bought it until a bit later when I saw the trim code on the...
