Thank you all for the welcome backs. I still get daily reports of the forum's activity, The thing is I've been very involved caring for our 4-legged horses. They're very demanding .

It's been a very long time since I last posted anything here. I still have my 72 Mach 1 but my new question as about a 79 Ranchero I also have. I'm trying to figure out what engine and transmission is in it. The VIN in 9H48H119866 but I don't know how to figure it from that. Can anyone here tell...

    1972 Mustang functional Ram Air

I believe putting Ram Air on a properly adjusted 2 barrel will increase the efficiency of the smaller carb but will not bring you up to what you can get with a 4 barrel double pumper. The 351 likes fuel and lots of it. If you're wanting economy your better off looking at a Pinto with small 4...

    Air Conditioner Compresser

Thanks, I just need it to cool down the drivers seat and be able to recharge it if needed. I drive the car at least weekly and it does get hot here in Calif. I too need to redo the entire system. Mine has not been functioning since I got the car.

Is there a big difference between Stage 1 & Stage 2 systems?

I figured that, is there a big difference between stage 1 & stage 2 systems?

That looks right for original replacement but I think I need to upgrade from the R12 system.

    Ram Air

I have a ram air setup, air cleaner and plenum for 71-73 hood with the twin scoop openings. If anyone is interested let me know and I'll send pics of the parts. When I had my engine built the rise on the intake was too tall to work and I didn't want to change manifolds so there ya are. With hind...

    1972 Mustang functional Ram Air

I have a complete ram air setup that I can't use. Air Cleaner and plenum that mounts to hood & uses stock air inlets. I'll take a picture of the parts tomorrow if interested.

    Air Conditioner Compresser

Do you know where I can find a functional original. I was looking at Vintage Air but they don't seem to have one for 71-73's I'll call them on Monday. Since there isn't much original on mine I don't mind going with aftermarket chromed or at least polished as long as I can get it to work.

Cleaning product for black portion of hood

My hood has that black painted area on it which is a semi-gloss finish and I have a heck of a time getting the water spots off of that area. My car is not a trailer queen, I drive her around town and to local car shows. Now that I have more than a year on the paint job I'm finding keeping that...

NEED ALL MEMBERS TO RESPOND PLEASE!

Mine is a 72 Mach 1fastback. I don't know what engine code she was it came from the factory with a 351 2V engine but now she has a 408 stroker motor that produces just under 600 hp. After having the engine built it wouldn't fit under the hood so I put a blower scoop on it and let her breathe...

    1972 vs. 1973 351C Vacuum System

Tim, Re: Ram Air... Take measurements. If you've changed the intake manifold you probably changed the height of the carb. I changed to an Edlebrock RPM and the Ram Air system won't fit. I think an older Edlebrock Torker will work but Edlebrock doesn't offer that manifold any longer. Fortunately...

    Suspension is the next step

With the amount of work you've put in this far there's no reason to half step with the front end. Good responsive steering is kina helpful. If the control arms are in good shape then everything else can be replaced with new fairly reasonably. I replaced all ball joints, shocks. bushings and the...
