yes I am running halogens, I have orderd a NOS light switch. so now my question is how to wire it to a resistor or relay? if I wire through resistor then what size? and where do I wire that at? I have no electrical experience as you can tell.

just to fill everyone in on what the issue was on this, as I went through all the wiring I found that where the plug in on the steering column is, there were two of the wires pulled out of the plug in just a little. pushed them back in and all is well. Thanks to all for the replies and comments.
