    Missing gears on my AOD!

Yes but don’t buy cheap parts. Get good quality. Minimum pressure should be 35psi but if that is what you set it before, then you should set it at 40 psi.

What's the deal with small plastic parts costing an arm and a leg?

Why not bondo, sand and paint? These are not pressure parts...

Anyone replaced all the brake lines?

It’s best to replace everything. Suppliers carry the oem style steel pre-formed lines or you can get stainless pre-formed lines…or you can buy a coil of copper-nickel brake line and custom fit them yourself. You’ll need a bending tool and flaring tool. You can remove the intact lines and lay...

    Vacuum actuators

Also consider buying the old shop manuals if you do not plan on any heavy modifications. https://www.ebay.com/itm/126711208246

Do an internet search for vacuum motors. eBay is an excellent resource for classic car parts.

    Aftermarket Steering Wheel blues

Back in the day, all the steering wheels were large diameter. Hanrdly any cars or trucks had power steering and the larger steering wheels gave extra leverage for manual steering.......of course everyone really did have power steering......it was called shoulders and bicepts!

    Aftermarket Steering Wheel blues

Agreed! The Rim Blow repro is much wider and I now have full view of the cluster no matter what angle the tilt is at. One problem…..Nova steering wheel?????

    Aftermarket Steering Wheel blues

I solved mine but I had to reach so deep in my pocket that I was in my socks. I bought a repro rim blow steering wheel from Kentucky Mustang. I got it in 2019 for $300. Now they’re close to $900. Works well and all of the sudden the steering wheel lock works! Very strange!

    351C where to start?

You have a spread bore intake which would require you to get the Autolite 4300D spreadbore carburetor. Those old carbs are available rebuilt and re-engineered so that the inherent problems experienced in the 1970s are no longer a factor. The 4300D would cost you around $900-$1000 when they are...

    The Mach-A-Reina build thread

I had the same problem with mine. The brake system as a whole was rotten. The emergency cable on both sides at the rear drums was rusted and gone. You should be able to find all the replacement parts including the sheilded brake cable. I upgraded my braking with new four wheel disc. The...

Welcome and Howdee from Texas. I noticed the rear wheel is chocked. Non-functioning parking brake?

Can I use an NOS 71 Expansion valve with R134a or do I need to replace with a new one?

It would also behoove you to replace the dryer and the condenser. Flush out the evaporator and replace the expansion block with a new one. I would also replace the compressor since it would be difficult to extract all the oil for replacement. Either concourse replacement or the newer...

Testing plug wire with OHM meter. I don't understand the readings

Agreed. If in doubt, replace the whole set. You can go the cheapie (Autozone) way or buy low resistance wires by MSD and also, while you're at it, new tritium plugs......unless you're going concours.

New leaf springs to raise the rear

The *** dragging rear springs were the “handling” package. All it did was lower the center of gravity but made it look dumpy! I replaced my rear springs with a set from CJ Pony. I added a mofidied replacement shackle on the driver’s side to correct a 1/2 in list. She looks great with her...

1973 Mustang Mach 1 Fuel Vapor Canister

I second the suggestion to recharge your canister. Use a small thin flat blade screwdriver, wedge it in the start at the beginning of the crimp and pry it up. You can continue to use the screwdriver or a pair of needle nose piers and continue to lift the crimp. Charge it with activated...

    Unhappy With Holley Sniper

This topic seems to rare its head more often now. Is your Sniper setup the first generation? The first gen Snipers had the ECU in front of the body. If you have the OEM distributor with and electronic igniter installed, you will have problems. The electronic igniters create RF interferance...

Holly Sniper EFI issues or NOT?

The only issue is with an electronic igniter in the distributor. A Pertonix igniter will send RF interference to the Sniper because of the positioning of the electronic components of the Sniper in the front and in close proximity to the distributor. I solved that issue by installing a dual...

Parts Wanted '71-'72 ignition and door lock set

I purchased the repros on eBay and had no problem. The door locks are a pain of course and the ignition lock was a breeze. From time to time on eBay, OEM new old stock will show up at a premium price.
