    ‘72 6 cyl 3speed clutch rod

    All, Please see the included photo of the clutch adjustment rod on the ‘72 6 cylinder 3 speed transmission. As you can see it is bent and possibly jury rigged. I have ordered a new one. Does anyone have a photo showing how it should be correctly installed? Thanks in advance. Regards, Don

    The HEI is definitely a no go. I did repair the solenoid and it works well. Initial timing is set to 8 degrees. No run on. Vacuum retard disabled. 625 idle rpm with idle screw and solenoid backed all the way out. Vacuum leak perhaps? All in all she runs well, and we’ll be putting her to the test...

After spending some time under the hood yesterday I’ve noticed several issues that I would like to address as follows; Carburetion, Carter RBS; 1 The idle solenoid is slow and the wire is broken at the solenoid.     The car is in very good condition with only 79k miles on the odometer and a plethora of paperwork going back to the day it was purchased. Interestingly the original owner traded in a 70 convertible 6 cylinder 3 speed for this 72. Thanks for the welcome and now to dive in!
