Great job and great pictures! I’m looking to install the same dash panels you have but my dash frame doesn’t have provisions on the glove box side for the plastic panels. Do you have pictures installing the panels to the metal dash frame?

thanks.

I don't have any really good pictures showing the mounting hole locations but these two are the only ones I have, hopefully they help. The first is from when I painted the dash carrier and it shows the four holes. The second is after the dash was assembled and you can see two of the speed nut retainers on the plastic studs that are on the back of the trim panel and come through those holes.

I am going to do a black interior and the car will be painted Wimbledon White with black stripes like the 73 Mach I had when I was in high school and college. I can't wait until I can start spraying some color, but that won't be until at least end of summer or early fall.

So I found a guy on E-bay that makes fathead type characterization versions of muscle cars in the color you request so I had one made of what my Mach will look like when it is done. Mine will have the black at the bottom which his artwork didn't have. I am placing it on the garage wall for decoration and to keep me motivated as I work.

I like it so much I am going to change my profile pic to this. Considering it is currently a picture of when I bought it and the media blaster made sure there is no Grabber Blue paint left on the car.

Today I finally got back to that drivers rear quarter that I have been subconciously avoiding. It still needs body work but at least it is welded, metal finished and primed, and that allows me to seam seal underneath and paint the bottom of the car. Once that is done, I can get the brake and return line installed down the tunnel before the engine gets back from dyno. Then I can install engine and trans and not try to sneak those lines in afterward.

I got the steering column back in this morning, now its starting to look familiar

My 73 I had back in high school, the picture doesn't show it but I added the cheap parts store vinyl steering wheel wrap soon after this picture was taken. That;\'s why I am adding it to the 71 for nostalgia sake.

Painted the differential today and I am hoping to paint the floor tomorrow. I thought I would paint the diff first and not worry about overspray on the floor and then cover the differential when I paint the floor. I felt it would be easier to mask off the diff than the floor.

I'm hoping the satin clear I sprayed over the red oxide primer flattens out as it cures, it looks more gloss than satin right now. 🤞

I got the bottom of the car painted today. I got up early and knocked it out before we had to leave for a Fourth of July afternoon barbecue.

Tomorrow, I am hoping to get the brake and fuel lines installed before we go out. I'm trying to work in some progress on the car.

Nice work! Gotta do something with that axle vent, though. ;)

Just kidding!

Great job on the breather and rear brakes. Since my rear breather hose was only about 1 1/2 inches when I started working on mine, do you have a pic of where the hose leads to? Thanks.
