Anybody ever modify their stock spreadbore intake to mount a holley carb? Upon test fit, the carb will clear if you just lightly chamfer the inside radius of the rear spreadbore ports. Anybody ever run something like this? I have heard that stock intakes produce more torque than any aluminum intake out there. could be hot air, just curious.

The mismatch of the pad to carb tends to make gaskets sealing iffy. You would likely have trouble with vacuum leaks if there was not a transitional spacer to resolve that. Factory manifolds have no magical power to make more torque and are not as good as most aftermarket intakes and tend to be cast iron and heavy.

That being said, if you use a adapter/spacer and it performs to your satisfaction, it is an inexpensive way to go.
