This has been for sale for a while. It also is not quite original... for the asking $$, it should be...
100% agree.
Some of the things I noticed with just a quick glance:
- Deluxe door panels don't go with standard seats. The write-up states: "Factory Appearing, Brand New White & Black Interior." That says 'Repop Everything' to me, as mine fits into that category (minus the white, of course).
- Boss 351s didn't come with the chrome trim on the dash panels, to my knowledge - Repop pieces.
- What the heck is going on with that weird knob on the driver side dash above the gas pedal. That is SO not the right air duct cable pull assembly - check the next pic of the passenger side for the correct knob/assembly.
- Is Grabber Blue a "metallic" paint? The write-up states: "Beautifully Done Blue Metallic Paint Finish" I think something's wrong there.
- Argent chin spoiler? I never did hear the ruling on that: is the chin spoiler supposed to be black, or rocker color?
- The trunk spoiler paint seems like the wrong color - it doesn't "look" like it matches the rest of the argent to me. Could just be the photos.
- The trunk lid fits about a well as mine - I would expect better from a high-end restoration. Just sayin'.
- The stripes are under the clear coat (or painted), and not cut-in to the fender flares properly.
- Missing stickers under the hood - most notably: air cleaner lid sticker (that's a big one to miss, and so easy to get right)
- Flowmasters. Why go to the trouble of putting Goodyear Polyglas GTs on the car, then toss on Flowmasters?
I'll quit because I need to actually get some work done.
Don't get me wrong - it's a gorgeous car... seriously. But I don't think it's as authentic as being represented, or as valuable as a result. I think somewhere around $50-60K is more appropriate, considering it's a Boss 351 and definitely been restored... but not exclusively with NOS parts, nor faithfully apparently.
