Dipstick tube

When re-installing the oil dipstick tube into the block, do I want to use a little rtv or anything on it? Might be a dumb question but have never put a tube back in. Thanks!!!

I use a VERY small amount. Start the tube in the hole, apply a small amount, insert all the way, wipe any excess off. Just the way I do it. Chuck

Either RTV or Permatex #2

I used permatex #2 Works great- Spread a little on the tube before installing and it will seal and the excess will push out the top in a nice ring.

Thats what I thought, Thank you for the responses gentlemen, I built one other cleveland ever, and that was just a refreshing on a 2v about 15 years ago!! With time, some things slip the mind........At least I can still drive well!!!!
