I have attended this all Ford Fall swap meet at the Ohio State Fair Grounds 24 of the last 25 years. This will be my last year attending.

First off, I was able to grab some nice pieces for my restoration, not that I needed a lot... I picked up a second refurbished and restored 55 amp alternator, did not need it, but this one had the very rare and correct pulley specific to the 429 cj (and possibly the Boss 351?).

Also got two vvery nice original 14X7 Kelsey Hayes steel rims. If you may recall, I damaged two getting the wheel locks off... small scuffs, but I wanted to change them nonetheless... one wil be used for the spare tire.

Also picked up the correct electric solenoid for the Rochester Carb, return spring (carb),rare PVC hose from the oil cap to the carb (mine was cracked), alternator splash shield, etc. The problem is that all of this was from one vendor. Not much available in the 71-3 years with other vendors.

For the first time, they only utilized 2 buildings instead of 3 for the Parts vendors due a lack of registered [/align]vendors... dissapointing.

Not worth the time and money in the future, but enjoyed my many years of previous visits to the Columbus area.

Glad you picked up some great items. I thought about going, until I realized that it was the same day as THE game between OSU and Michigan.

I think it definitely has to do with competition... and the drying up of available old Ford parts. each year, there is less and less '71-3 stuff. I remember back when there was a few guys there selling all Boss 429 stuff, loads of it... One guy stuck out in my mind because he told me that he thought the world was ending soon, so he was unloading all of his car stuff. Whoa...

It was one of the best Ford swap meets for a number of years. That is a big drop of vendors when you have to close 1/3 of the swap meet options... too bad really, but it has been coming to this, I guess.

Yes, I was worried about the big game and traffic, but the stadium is a ways over thankfully. I have come to enjoy the rivalry between these two schools and I must admit that the Ohio orange wore off on me over the years I am apt to follow their scores and quietly cheer for them... Even bought some sweaters and hats over the years, and I do the same for the university when in AZ for the Barrett Jackson auction...
