Born an I-6, spent the teenage, 20 and 30 years as a 302, but at 40 will reach full potential as a 351C.
I had to buy a fan shroud for my 70 XR7 when the motor mount broke and the fan ran into the shroud during one of many high acceleration take offs.

I replaced it with a NEW PLASTIC shroud, and although happy to have a piece that fit, the plastic wasn't nearly as sturdy as the original. It's like, couldn't they have added 2 ounces of plastic and 1/32 of an inch to the thickness to bulk the thing up a little?

That was several years ago. But I am wondering if anyone has a NEWER fan shroud that they are happy with.

Thanks.

For the 70 Mustang shrouds, depending on if you have the 20 or 24 inch shroud. There are 2 options

1 - import version - real flimsy

or

2 - USA made on OE tooling - better but the new plastic will flex

Actually either one is probably better than the fiber material the originals were made from as it was very hard and brittle

Thanks Don.

How deep is the USA one?

When I look at 71 Mustangs, that shroud looks like it is about 4" deep.

And what is the diameter of the opening?

You might get some spare change out of me yet.

The oe tooling VS import info I gave was referring to the 70 shroud you mentioned

71-3 only 1 shroud available , not oe tooling, fits 26 Inch rad only

I saw you have this on eBay...

http://www.ebay.com/itm/71-73-MUSTANG-351-FAN-SHROUD-NEW-CORRECT-D1ZZ-8146-/360453993550?hash=item53ecbb744e&item=360453993550&pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr

You list it as "NEW, CORRECT D1ZZ-8146".

What does "CORRECT" mean?

Does it fit this radiator, Item #CUC381?

And these hoses, Item #RH2-351C..(any chance you have the hoses without the staple)?
