It sure does..Im sure alot of us been threw the same deal...Questions only the dead can anser....A guy like him thou....Im sure he had multiple will's...Revised over and over...Plus wills and legal paper work can be over ruled by courts thou."Even if it was your wishes" Take that rich cat lady who left all her millions to cats...lol...Family came in and still got a big chunk of that....even know she did all the right paper work and didnt want any of her kin to have it...lol..Death is a messy biz on every end.....No guarantee what will happen with your stuff after you die...but my only wish with my stuff..when i go..God willing...It goes to the people i realy care about.Unfortunately, that type of stuff happens a LOT, even when the deceased is not wealthy and/or well-known. That is why I advise anyone who I care about to make sure they have a will or some type of legal directive that is known to all concerned parties. It is an "uncomfortable" conversation for many but not doing so can literally tear a family apart.
I am aware of a couple of ongoing situations where people I know have died and the family either goes into debt or have had to bring the matter to the courts.
We all have an "expiration" date, so I always take these type situations as a reminder to "cover all my bases."
Good Post, Roy!
