Just heard that some QLD crims got busted for drugs and as part of the asset seizures cops got a 70 SS Camaro a SLR 5000 Torana and a GT 500 and a lambo. will see if any local media have some pics to post up. SLRs look like this for you guys that don't know. If it was an A9X or L34 its worth a couple of hundred grand in Aus

we should all be so lucky as to go through the pearly gates at 150mph backwards and on fire. it would establish instant cred asthe new cool guy ;)

That fuel tank in the second car would make a Ford Pinto seem safe in a rear end collision:D
Called drop tanks. Lots of Torana's have them, its to do with racing back in the day

Luke, did they say that it is original? Even a mickey mouse clone can fetch over 50...

I've always had a soft spot for one of them....
Me to Jim. The word is it was a A9X sedan my brother reckons it looked like a flash 1 on TV. would be worth more than the Shelby if it is indeed real. May have to look out for the police auction :)

Ah I see, my 73 mustang has a more rounded factory installed version of a drop tank in it.
Ha mine too. Torana drop tanks are about 120-130 litres they are a circuit race thing with a duel purpose 1 extended range minimising fuel stops 2 they lower the centre of gravity of the full tank and helps with the handling in racing. Probably the most successful production race cars produced in Australia.

That's awesome, I bet they are a blast to drive.
