OK - so how does one go about getting a Musician award? Is there some kind of audition involved? Are there any kinds of bias toward which instruments are played?

Hey - ya gotta ask these things, ya know. rofl

BTW - here's a link to the San Angelo Community Band's Memorial Day Concert from this past Monday. I am the tuba player in the center of the back row (next to the timpanis), who stands up during the Air Force portion of the 'Armed Forces Medley' we play at the 39-ish minute mark - and sit right back down because the wind caught my sheet music and I had to chase it under the next guy's chair.

I'll try and find a link to the Civil War Music Lecture my other group (the Ice House Brass) played around the end of April.

http://www.icehousebrass.org/ (I'm the tall guy on the right with the Euphonium standing next to Jake, our tuba player)

Looks like I need to update both websites as well.

Oh snap! I'm not so sure about it now when you say it like that... :goodone:

I was thinking the same thing about the Musician award, what are the requirements.

I play the Drums, some Keyboard and occasionally the Bagpipes (I never admit to it in public, that I'm the one making the noise in the neighborhood)

Actually, yeah. We have a Dixie/Bonnie Blue Flag arrangement we play at the forts when we're invited to play during their 'Re-enactment Days.' It's one of the tunes we played for the lecture. Gotta get those videos off the DVD now.

Here's a shot of my Low Brass Arsenal.

I also just picked up a Benge "Studio" Trombone (with an 'F-Trigger') from a friend who was going to just donate it to Salvation Army.

Can I get a music badge? I play drums for my church and played everything and anything percussion in school.

Maybe this could be my first badge! I play guitar and Bass. Nothing big just enjoy jamming with my friends. Here's my collection.

The valve trombone is a 1922 Conn 3G. That's right - 91 years old. I got it off ebay through what looked like an estate sale. The silver euphonium is a Sterling Virtuoso (I haven't traced the serial number to find out what year it is yet) that I picked up from a student that needed the money. Suffice it to say, I got an $8500 high-end euphonium for only $1000. All of the others were ebay acquisitions as well - average price around $250 each.
