My Car
72 Mach 1, Q code 351CJ, 4 speed.
My first car was a base emerald green Mach 1 back in 1986 when i had no money! The car was rough but i loved it. Unfortunately I blew the 351c 2v motor and ended up selling the car for $500! :-( i always said if i ever find another in better condition and had the higher end options i would jump on it. I never thought that would happen though. The old saying is true, "when you arent looking thats when you will find."

Here is what I've done done so far since day 1 back in February.

The plan is a restomod swapping the origional motor for a little more than mild 460 build. Upgraded suspension for handling or should I say just better handling.

I should have the dash finished by next weekend.

Thanks for looking!

Wade

Cool pics Wade. Did you use bubble foil for the insulation? one suggestion would be to use foil tape and not duct tape for the seams. It will seal and hold much better than the duct tape. The foil tape is actually for use on duct work while duct tape is actually not for duct as it will deteriorate after time.

Jason,

Yes this is the bubble insulation from Lowe's. I doubled up the firewal piece by gluing 2 together. Would you recomend doing that every where? The doubled peice made it as thick as the.origional i used for a template.

Thanks for the tip on the foil tape!! Glad I am not too far along!

No Problem. I have never used the bubble insulation on a vehicle before. I have used it as insulation under concrete and numerous other places though. The foil tape is the way to go. If you can double it without any issues I guess it wouldn't hurt.

Nice project car to start with. Looking forward to the progress. Ryan
