Seen on the TV that ford will import RHD mustangs into Australia. We getting Camaros Too. Just sucks that its at the expense of local product.

Hope we get challengers. If we do I know what my new car will be.

I wish we could have got Falcons here! But the blame is on the consumers buying cheaply produced vehicles. Yes specifically Toyota's crap. Screw the workers wage, lower quality standards to make huge profits. Do we even need to mention Kaisen events! Sure it's a rant but in reality they produce a four year car, as well as their brethren. Build super cheap , sell cheap, wash , rinse, repeat. Most people don't even keep a car that long, for them it works great. It is hard for a major manufacturer like Ford or Chevy to compete with the cost to produce, because they don't sacrifice the engineering and long term durability. Yes. yes my Honda has 200000 miles, yeah right normally at least one head gasket later. I work in the Auto parts business as well, and you see all the problems every day. Yeah their machines, and anything properly maintained should do you well, but I see so many cheap cars crap out very quickly. That is what kids want today, and hard to buy a good car I get it. Been there done that. I'd rather have something that's worth something by the time you pay it off. Really sucks you guys are losing a great legacy ford and chevy but Aussie's are the ones to blame.

I agree we are some of our own problem. But the good stuff was competing with eurocars, excellent engineering and build quality and some of them are cheaper. Funny because now ford and GM will be low cost imports.

a fine article on the competition of auto makers and well organized strategist ....the Japanese. If you look back a few years to the early 40's. The A6M was a landmark for the Japanese to lose the battle and win the war. It was built with the lightest material ... a dependable drive train with a "goal" in mind...only lasting long enough to complete the mission.... which provided efficiency, reduced cost and they were utilized in mass...just like today. They watched our buying methods, played on our greed, watched the buying cycles and took over and we were not even watching. Now they own us!!

Nice choice, light , maneuverable, one way ticket...pilots were cheap. As I recall only one with operable Sakae engine.... Not faulting smart business, just faulty consumers.
