Passenger side inside door handle not opening door anymore

Hello team-

The inside passenger door handle quit working on my 71 Boss. Before I take off the door panel and tear into it, is this a common problem and what usually breaks?

There's a rod that connects the inside door handle to the release mechanism over at the door jamb. These use a metal clip that looks like a clevis on one end and snaps around the rod on the other. I suspect one has either popped off or is broken.

Edit: I guess my memory is off.....that first clip was for a chebby!

Here's what NPD shows....this is what I suspect came loose and the rod is no longer connected.

Take the panel off and see what gives.

The handle is pot metal. Mine the arm was broken off where the rod connected.
Mi put new locks, handles and latches in mine when I redid mine.
