Looks like a 1960 or '61 Falcon XK (Australian version). I have seen similar pics of cars thrown up into trees by tornados here in Oklahoma. But in this one, sure appears the tree grew around around the car and lifted it as the tree grew. Crazy!

Neat picture and it is a right hand drive.

Reminds me of when I worked in Bull Run park and campground back in 1972 when hurricane Agnes hit. After the water receded there were several campers up in the trees like that. It looked like they were higher up in the trees then settled down in the branches as the water level went down.

I think you're right, the tree looks like an Australian gum tree.

 
10-13 metres of fast moving flood water every year. remembering according to the boffins this region of Australia is 1 half the engine room for the worlds monsoon cycle. The other half being the Himalayas.couple of before and after shots
