Some before and after pics of soaking them. They are from a 71 white convertible and are parchment. They are non-retractable. They were pretty nasty and are less nasty now but still not nearly nice enough when everything else is new. The metal overall is in very nice shape. I have not tried to refresh/restore the metal at all other than the soak. I soaked them in very hot citrus degreaser with dish soap and vinegar. I changed the solution a number of times. The webbing does not need to be concourse correct. I have looked around and here are a couple of places:
