Tail Light Assy

I removed the tail lights to prep for paint, and the gaskets in the tail lights look like they are glued in. Does anyone know any tricks to get the gaskets out without damaging the tail light assemblies?

The adhesive under the gaskets are an amber/clear color that is real streachy. Seems like most of it came out pretty easy at first, but then I tried WD 40 to remove the rest.

I think Q has a video thread here about the tail lights too.

Here are a couple of pics I took while cleaning mine up; you can still see some of the adhesive.

Thanks Ole Pony, I'll look for that video. The adhesive is stretchy but I didn't want to scrape it.
