Eventually I am going to get aftermarket 18's but for now just to get it on the road I am going to run the stock 15" hub cap rims.  I have some questions and request for opinions.

What is the widest tire I can run on the rear with these rims and not have it stick out past the fender well?

Should I run wider in the rear than on the front or same size all the way around?

If same size all the way around what is the widest I can run without rub at either end?

Raised white letter BFG Radial T/A's or black walls.  I am leaning towards the RWL's for that retro look.

Please post any pics of the pie pan hub cap wheels.

My 73 originally came with the narrow white sidewall tires with the trim rings and hubcaps. I eventually went with the Sport Wheel Covers then finally have the aluminum wheels with RWL's. It took me a while to get use to the different look of the RWL's but I really like them now. I've stayed with the original 70 series width tires.

I suppose you also use the stock rims? Then the width of those rims will restrict the width of the tires anyway and I'm willing to guess that you can't go wide enough to hit the fenders.

I have 255/60/15 on my original 7 inch wide Magnums (all 4) and 255 is about the maximum width you can go on a 7 inch rim and no rubbing whatsoever, even though my car is lowered a lot.

Ok, these are actually Magnum 500 rims that I modified to accept standard hub caps.

Here's the how to:
