Very Nice early Fathers Day

So I have to make a 554 mile run (one way) out west (still in the boundrey of the state of TEXAS_). Still not at the Texas state line!! But once there I'll be within 2 hours of Carlsbad Caverns.

A few days ago:

So I text the wife and ask what my daughters schedule is. Footnote, in the past few years we've found a week every year to go on a trip, just her and me and it is our bonding moment. Wifey says: well she may have to work.....

Today:

I get message.... she was talking to my daughter and mentioned my trip. My daughter interrupts and say "think DAD will mind if I go with him" and she had no idea about the earlier conversation or Carlsbad being in the suggested trip. Keep in mind Midland /Odessa is not a hot spot of the world for a teenager..... interesting how this developed. Now she does know she's treated like a little queen on these trips.... but this is the DESERT. NOT a cool place to visit.
