Born an I-6, spent the teenage, 20 and 30 years as a 302, but at 40 will reach full potential as a 351C.

I do not believe there is any doubt flat tappet camshafts require use of zinc rich oil or at the very least zinc rich oil additives. This is not the case for todays modern overhead cam motors and motors using roller lifters.
Zinc rich oil is not typically found in your local auto parts store.
