Its amazing what gets wasted and crushed as scrap metal.Probably too big a job to restore I guess.At least that 31 spline 9' won't go to waste!I've always had a soft spot for those old big block Mercury cars.Such a sad end to a great automobile!

While we're on the subject of door panels.I have a '72 Mach 1 under restoration at present ,and I see they make reproductions of the deluxe door panels in just about every color excluding dark green.Is painting white door panels the only way to go?Just wondered if anyone had any ideas on this...

Well... It looks like the bottom shock plates can be flipped around,so that's gonna be the easy part..I'm not really all that concerned about the non-original thing with this one ,because its under the car well out of sight ,but if I could find a pic of what the top mount is meant to look...
