I'm looking for some ID and rebuild advice for my power steering pump. This unit came with the original 429 motor that I pulled from a '68 T-bird. I cannot find any identifying marks on the pump because it is pretty badly gummed up and has lost most paint, etc. A good steam cleaning may...
Hi guys -
I'm in the process of installing my rear defrost glass into my 71 and had a few questions. I currently have two pieces, both have minor scratches, both I believe work, but looking for some help from anyone who may have more expertise:
1) The attached pics show what I have. Does...
Ok thanks Tom. That's what I was thinking - that the sealer went between the body and the seal. It's about the only way to do it. I hadn't considered the relationship between the foam tape and relationship to trim. I will try a dry fit first to see if I get the same issue. What kind of...
Hi Guys, looking for some help on a few items related to rear window install. Have attempted to break them out below:
Window Trim Anchor Repair
One of the "buttons" that anchors the trim retainers to the body on my car is missing. I think it my have been damaged at some point and then pushed...
Hi Steve - thanks for sharing. I don't have that manual here with me, but that was my next check. That is good to know there is some ID in that book. Maybe this combined with pictures may help me land on correct replacements.
Anyone out there know if a list exists that cross references harness connectors with Ford PN's? I'm in process of dropping in my Painless universal kit and I'd to replace as many ends as possible if they exist (as opposed to cutting them off my old harness). Del City, Allied and Mouser have...
Mark, that looks Fantastic! I rough installed mine over the weekend and I had a tough time getting all of the wrinkles out / getting it tight like this. I will be doing the gluing this upcoming weekend - I figured I'd give it some time in position to "relax". In the areas where the headliner...
Jackwagon3, I'm in the same boat. Just getting to the harness portion of the build. My old harness seems shot. Appears brittle and had a lot of hack job adds over the years. So, I'm thinking of doing a painless universal replacement as a starting point. I originally had heartburn about...
Vintageman - I know exactly what you are talking about. I, too, bought the same SD dome light and I can't for the life of me figure out how the heck they expect this to work the way they delivered it. It's a guaranteed short circuit if you install it as is. A shorter screw isn't a bad idea...
I got the headliner installed...but not yet glued. pulled everything back as best I could this past weekend and held in place with binder clips. I wanted to give it a few days to "stretch in place" and relax a bit before giving it a final "tighten and glue"
