Thanks for the responses!  I think I'll give the slider another shot, i just didn't want to crack that piece because I didn't know what I was doing.

Trying to remove steering column sleeve

I'm moving it out of the way to get the dash piece out that's in front of the cluster. I was trying to get it out with removing the least amount of things and I may be missing something.

Trying to remove steering column sleeve

Hi all, I recently got back to driving my 71 coupe and of course noticed more things I needed to work on. One of those things is replacing the lights in the instrument panel. I went to remove it but I got hung up taking out the dash panel, literally. The panel got stuck on the plastic sleeve...

Why did you buy a 71-73 coupe?

It was my first experience learning to work on a car and owning a muscle car. I didn't really know too much about the different mustangs. I saw an add for a 71 coupe for $800 and I thought it would be a low buy in to a new hobby.

Help diagnosing why my heater blower motor wont turn on

I thought I would finish this thread off with a resolution. I got the new switch from Old Air Products installed and everything put back together. The resistor turned out fine as I have multiple fan speeds. Here is a picture of the new switch compared to the original. Thanks for all the...

Help diagnosing why my heater blower motor wont turn on

Hah! I got it figured out. It's the switch. The backing behind the top post is broken and it's crumbling apart. I was able to get 12v to the motor directly with a bypass wire and the motor works (yay). Still don't know about the resistor, but we will get to that when the switch is fixed. Now to...

Help diagnosing why my heater blower motor wont turn on

Thanks guys! that gives me a lot more to go on with my testing. If thats the power connecter, I should be able to detect current there when the key is on, so that can hopefully rule out some of the problem to the plug. Then I can test the switch and clean it up a bit. Thanks for the tip on...

Help diagnosing why my heater blower motor wont turn on

Hello all, I have a 71 coupe with A/C and I am currently trying to figure out why the blower motor is not turning on. It has worked in the past, then it the lower settings stopped working, then all together. The switch itself is a little hard to push up, but it gets there with a little force. I...

    Lead additive or octane boost?

When I got my 302 rebuilt, I had it done with slightly higher compression, and the engine builder told me that it was going to be highest grade gas from here on out. You should be good with the premium stuff.
