    351C 2V intake leak,

I am found that when oil is leaking out the back as you described and the oil sender is ruled out, installing the valley pan cures the problem. I have had this situation on two different 351C 2V with both iron and Aluminum manifolds. The valley pan is simple and quick. I still use. silcone...

Are the 351C big block engines?

I agree i call it a cleveland. The original small block/ big block designation was to identify Chebby engines it does not really translate to other makes. In the Ford world most people use "small block" to mean windsor(260 to 427 cubes),big block generaly means 385 series (429 to 600+ cubes)...

Got it started...but one solved issue leads to another

One thing that is helpful in replacing a heater core is to remove the glove box and door to help access the heater box. I also remove the passenger seat just to have more room for me to fit in there but that is not necessary for most people.

Tried to start for first time FAILED

Sounds like my exact problem. The timing pointer is at TDC, the rotor is pointing at the #1 spark plug. Starting attempts result in backfire in the carb. I assume it is not on the compression stroke but on the exhaust storke. Will rotate the crank around once (360 crank degrees) and then set...

    dual point distributors

I recall Ford offered a kit to replace any V8 single point setup with dual points. It is just a plate and a couple of sets of points. The distrubtor remains the same. Dual points were for above about 4500 RPM... made no difference below that. Quality control in the 70's wasnt very good not...

    4v cleavland?

The way to tell a 4V from a 2V on the engine is to look for the number "2" or "4" stamped on the head. The number is clearly seen at the top front corner of the head towards the intake side just past the valve cover.

    Drag setup pics?

I run a 255/60/15 MT drag radial on a 15X8 wheel(cheap wheel) with 4 " back spacing with with stock springs and drag shocks front and rear. Slapper bars. My tires are a bit worn so will step up to 275/50 15 next year. Looks like 5.5 backspacing will keep them in the fenders.

Just wondering what kind of response you get to your cars?

I have had nothing but positive comments about my Grande. In gas stations people always want to know what year? Mine has oxided original paint but still attracts attention. It doen't do well at shows but always good comments at cruises. I race at the drags in a class for Mustangs only which has...

    Headers up or down

351 2V, power steering, FMX I installed Hooker Comp headers(1 3/4 tubes) from the bottom. Only had to raise the car enough to get enough room to angle the collectors. This was the easiest Header install I have ever done on a Mustang. My other efforts were on a 67 390 (the worst), 69 428 (not...

    Drag Strip Suspension Ready!

IF your going to the track you will need a helemet and a drivedshaft safety loop. with the motor you have I would go with standard front springs rather than 6 cly or the 620

    Holley Vacuum Secondaries opening

I would keep trying a lighter spring until they open all the way some where below your max rpm. IMHO a 600cfm on a 351c 4v is small(smaller than stock) and could be limiting your RPM. Cleveland motors especially with 4v heads like more carb than the formulas call for. The original Ford Muslce...
