For the money, the TKX is a much more durable transmission than the T-5.

The metal chunks are likely from the cam gear.
 
My steel lines are the original ones. The car has always been an Arizona car, except for a trip to Alaska in the 1980s, and they all are working fine. I flushed them once, because the master cylinder's rubber seal was bad when I got it, and a bunch of sludge filled the bottom of the reservoir.
 
What Can you folks suggest for a Front brake upgrade for the disk brakes? Sticking with 15 ' Rims
