Replacing the convertible top and figured I'd do some basic maintenance. The label says to use "Type A" transmission fluid only. Is there some equivalent you have used successfully and would recommend?

We've finished painting the 71 convertible and are in the process of replacing the top. Soon as that is done, the exterior work will be done and I'll post pics. Then on to the engine!

Ray, the Marti report shows the ram-air option but doesn't specify the hood black out. The brochure I saw seemed to indicate if you got ram-air you got the twist locks and black out but it's not definitive. Any way to tell for sure?

Actually, after doing some reading of what appears to be an old option brochure, mine might have had the blackout as it did come with the twist locks and functioning ram-air from factory.

Painting my car the original Wimbledon white but wanted to add the black accent to the NACA hood that I see around so much. Is there a "right" style, color, etc to that look?

Auron, sorry for the dumb question but are the belts secured to the seat? I want something safer in my 71 convertible but not crazy about having to secure a shoulder belt somewhere. Trying to find a solution where I can just do a swap and if ever needed, swap back. Or am I dreaming......
