    Out of hibernation...

Fantastic video showing the phenomenal job you did on the restoration. Love the sound and seeing the car with some of the details. I have yet to get mine out of the garage -- let's face it the good days have been few and far between - but also in the middle of moving 90 yr mother into Senior...

    stalling at temp

Vacuum leak.  If idle at full operating temp is set at 1000rpm (think that's what you meant) it is way too high for typical operation.  650 -700rpm is more like it. Once had same condition and it turned out to be intake manifold gasket leak which took months to eliminate all other possibilities...

mickey thompson poor wet performance 255/60/r15

::thumb::  Cost to repair compared to spending a few extra $$ for adequate handling should play large in decision.

mickey thompson poor wet performance 255/60/r15

The subject of Cooper tires has been discussed on this site previously. Shared consensus seemed to be they have a tendency to harden up as they age -- which leads to very slippery behavior on wet conditions. I've had Coopers on vintage mustangs and on current daily driver (truck) and find...

    GOOD NEWS BAD NEWS

When you get to the point of checking the air gap for the adjuster rod in the master cylinder using a small pea sized lump of plumber's putty, try this: Cut a small width of saran wrap that will fit down into the bore with two ends hanging out; drop in the putty and fit the MC to the booster...

    Replacement Positive Battery Cable

I learned about stores like Autozone, Advance, etc last fall when I was looking for a new 'Red' positive cable. Counterman said they stopped seeing color coding a year ago. He suggested I search online. Shame is how many folks are going to cross connect a battery and fry some systems....and...

429 timing settings. Info and help please.

If you have set single points gap, dual will not be an issue. You will need some sort of test meter to read the dwell to check it after you set the gaps. https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/ignition-tech-proper-method-to-set-gap-on-a-dual-point-distributor.459917/

Getting ready car ready to move...

In the meantime I've got spare room in my garage in case one of those cars needs a temporary home.....I would be sure to dust them on occasion and exercise them properly on a regular basis! Hope the move goes well.

    Auto Tranny problems

It's in OD when showing 'D'. Perfectly capable of manually shifting down thru 3rd, 2nd and 1st, but those don't line up perfectly with the cover. 1st is below the '1'. Neutral, Reverse and Park all line up just fine.

    Auto Tranny problems

My shifter plate is similar to the 2nd lower pic of the stock cover -- D - 2 - 1. Shifter itself was the original 69 assembly that was dressed up with a new cover plate. The linkage from the shifter to the AOD transmission was custom made (this was back in 2006). Somebody on the Vintage...

    Auto Tranny problems

This is a pic of my 69 vert with AOD where I used the stock shifter.  Works fine.  I did get a custom shifter linkage setup so everything matches up.

    End of hibernation...

Unfortunately for today (I'm approx 40 mi south of 7173Vert) it's been snowing/ sleeting all day with mid-30F temps....if nothing else the rain predicted for the next couple days should rinse all the winter salt and other chemicals off the roadways once and for all. Hoping this season to get up...

What horn button is correct for 73 mach 1?

The horn pad is actually designed to be a bit off center. The large arc should be on the bottom which is also the one with the ridges.

When I installed LEDs in my 73 dash I did the white LED with blue domes. Appearance was a nice blue shade. I also used amber for foot wells.

    Boss 351 Craiglist ad

Maybe its the real deal but there is so much wrong with the pics, as well as lack of Marti Rpt and other information this one does not give me a good vibe. https://buffalo.craigslist.org/cto/d/lockport-71-ford-mustang/6847533298.html It's also been posted for 20 days....

    Another strange turn signal issue

Something to keep in mind when replacing front and rear turn signal lamps with LED's.  You need two LED flashers.

    Oil pressure drop

Typically I've experienced 70 - 75 psi at cold start and 30 - 35psi when at operating temps (195 - 200). 10W - 30 both mineral and synthetic versions Years ago I purchased a decent quality aftermarket (dash style) oil pressure gauge and have used it as a method to check oil pressure when the...
