Lower Control Arm Ball Joint Boots

Well, it looks like replacing the lower control arm ball joint rivets is a rare practice. I have spoken with several high end restorers over the past couple of days and it does sound like some specialized tools and processes are necessary. Again, you are literally talking about the wheel...

    MCA Conservator Group; Thoroughbred?

Midlife is spot on. I have shown my 72 in Concourse Driven for the past 8 years. My car if it was original would not be anything left to show. My restoration was based on personnel and sentimental value the car holds for me and not for a trophy. I enjoy going to the national shows and...

Lower Control Arm Ball Joint Boots

So, noticed while judging in Indy both of my lower ball joint boots have deteriorated and torn. These are the Scott Drake lower control arms and the boots are lousy. I am trying to replace the boots and believe the only way to do so is remove the rivets holding the retainer and joint and then...

MCA 2023 Grand National, Melbourne, FL 9/8-9/10/23

Plan on making the drive down to Melbourne in September. It will be a busy late summer/fall with shows in July, August, and September. If you are in FL or will be in the area in early September try and make it by the show. It would be great to meet some folks from the forum in person. 2023...

MCA National - Indianapolis, IN 7/28-7/29

Did well at the show. Judges got me on some spider webs in the coil spring pockets and that is 100% on me. They took a lot of great notes on my judging sheet that I have already requested a copy of from MCA. With the notes I will still able to obtain Gold. Hopefully, the next show in...

AUSTIN VERT TALKS ABOUT COMPRESSED AIR BASICS

very timely for me. Thank you. Working on setting up the new shop with compressed air supply lines. Any advice on how supply lines impact any of the multiple variables here? I have MaxAir 3/4 lines I am going to be running. The longest run will be in the 80-85 ft length from the back of the...

Anyone going to the Boss Nationals?

I will be there hauling a friend and his car from Memphis up to the show. He is the original owner of a 70 Boss 302 that is absolutely pristine. He has been my mentor and teacher as I grew in the mustang restoration process. Truly an incredible friend that I am honored to bring him and his...

Grabber Lime 429 Mach Restoration Update - Interior

Very nice work as always. I really do like that color. Had a chance to get a Grabber Lime 71 in MS many years ago and just could not scratch up the money then. It definitely stands out in the crowd where ever it will go. Very nice work.

    TMI upholstery colors

I would agree with earlier comment that SEM products are a quality dye. You need to pay very close attention in the prep process. As they always say 90% prep and 10% paint gets you a better result. When I reconditioned my original black interior I used all of the SEM preparation process and...

    New Shop is 99.9% done

So the long journey from 2019 when we moved to the new house with a detached 700 sq ft garage to finally have a garage to store all of my equipment, cars, and parts is finally realized. The cliff notes version is back in late 2020 I signed a contract to have the garage built. The contractor...

MCA National - Indianapolis, IN 7/28-7/29

Will be heading up to Indy the end of July for the MCA National at the Hendricks County Fairgrounds with the 72 in Concourse Judging. If you are in the area and can stop by it would be great to meet up. Now to get the trailer finished after attempting to launch a Cyclone parts car through the...

INFO WANTED: AIR CLEANER DECAL FOR 351C 2V RAM AIR

Repro battery. In judging you get a deduction for cover. This is my second battery. My first one lasted 2014 to fall 2022. I thought that was a good life span. Hopefully this one will last as long.

I do not think the housings come off. I believe they are glued together to prevent water entry into the housing.

INFO WANTED: AIR CLEANER DECAL FOR 351C 2V RAM AIR

Agreed that the repro stickers are not a perfect match to the curvature of the factory 2v non-ram air cleaner lid. I went through several different suppliers to find one "close". I think I bought mine through ECS. My 72 non-ram air cleaner
