    Fabrice's 429CJ 71 project

Looks great buddy! All the time consuming test fitting and shaping and again test fitting etc pays off in the end! Also really like the solution where you hammered that curve over a piece of wood, very clever. I will use that trick some day ;-)

Slowest resto ever - Project AmsterFoose / Current subject: The rear window edge

Alrighty, time to start patching this @#$*! Got one done, it went like this: Got the crown in with my new English wheel, surprisingly easy. And after cutting the crap out I was happily surprised seeing that the inside of the roof edge's structure was nice and clean! I'm off to a good...

Slowest resto ever - Project AmsterFoose / Current subject: The rear window edge

I should not have mentioned fixing holes... This weekend I ripped off the vinyl top (everybody who ever removed the vinyl prolly knows where this is going...): It revealed a lot of glue. But also it removed a little bit more that required investigating. The investigation turned into a hunt...

Slowest resto ever - Project AmsterFoose / Current subject: The rear window edge

Yeah baby! It's done! And this was the LAST (planned) panel replacement, a milestone for me! Because I had forgotten to take measurements before I removed the panel I had to take a load of measurements to figure out the best position for my replacement: In the end I had it positioned just...

    Measuring the front

Thanks guys, in the end I used a lot of different measurements and a lot of points. The most useful one was actually from the front of the car to the top of the windshield edge (roof). Everything positioned quite nice in the end!

    Measuring the front

Cheers guys, I’m in vacation in France right now though. I’ll see what I can do with the measurements when I get home again. Vincent.

    Measuring the front

Hey guys, I got a quick question. What is a good point to use as a reference to offset the front of the frame? (Red arrow) I was thinking if putting something tight between the top of the front suspension and make the RH side to match the LH side. Would that work? Reason for asking is of...

Slowest resto ever - Project AmsterFoose / Current subject: The rear window edge

So.... underneath the top extra support is spotwelded onto the rail: I thought I could create a new one from scratch. I was wrong. The frame rails is slightly curved. Trying to create that curve myself cost me 2 days and in the end I fixed up the old one (from which I had cut off a bit)...

In the meantime I took the brace off and can confirm that those extra plates are metal and spotwelded onto the brace. More soon(ish)

    Partial Cowl Panel?

Yea cowl work sucks. I closed that vent since I'm gonna put in aftermarket airco that doesn't need it. It's very rewarding once you're done though :-)

    Partial Cowl Panel?

There are only upper and lower pieces for 71-73 and they are freakin expensive to ship to EU... If you are lucky and able you could create a patch yourself, kinda depends on where the rust is.

    Birthday!

Howdy! Today is my Mustang's birthday (july 6 1973). Don't wanna let it go by unnoticed of course ;-) Before my restoration started it looked good: The 6th of july is special for my car coz it was the very last day Grande's came off the assembly. Kevin Marti wrote this to me: This is...

Slowest resto ever - Project AmsterFoose / Current subject: The rear window edge

Alrighty, I started my last big panel replacement which is, the battery apron (which includes the tray). The area where the battery sits is pretty rotten with holes and everything that comes with that. Have a look: More piccies below. One from underneath and one from a piece of reinforcement...

Shopping list for coupe conversion to power windows

Cheers guys! Thanks for that extensive list. I’ll go try the oem way and try some local sources first.

Shopping list for coupe conversion to power windows

Aftermarket is fine but I saw some aftermarket motors and they are really expensive! I was thinking that maybe at some point I may be able to get my hands on original motors but than I wondered what else I'd need to make them work... I don't need the switches to be in the door, if I can make...

Shopping list for coupe conversion to power windows

Hey folks, If I wanted to convert my 73 grande to power windows, what should I be putting on my shopping list? I believe the glass needs a cut out? Would this kit be OK for power windows: https://www.cjponyparts.com/glass-kit-complete-coupe-1971-1973/p/WGK14-V/ Thanks for any input! Cheers...

Slowest resto ever - Project AmsterFoose / Current subject: The rear window edge

Reading my last post I just want to make clear to anyone who might get put off doing the same when reading how much time it took me... It takes me so long because I am really limited on time. I can only put real work in every other weekend and then only max 6 hours a day, so that's 24 hours a...
