Yes that little plastic piece is what I remember seeing on some 71 mustangs that I worked on years ago. I saw the holes in these 73 fenders and just figured the same thing went there. Thanks for clearing that up!

Need some help identifying these plastic pieces. I am putting a 73 mach1 back together that was torn apart by someone else 20 years ago. These pieces in the pics were in the many boxes of parts. I am thinking maybe they go in the grill area? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
