    Axel seal removal

I think the pumpkin color is "Red Oxide Primer". I'm a Permatex No.2 guy with a thin coat with gasket. "The Right Stuff" with no gasket may be viable also but it's expensive. Rule of thumb is coat seals with whatever lube they are used in. I wish you could have checked the axle flanges for...

David Look into renting a "hand crank telescoping portable forklift". I had to use one a few times for hoisting up pillars and beams for bearing wall remodels in the past. Good Luck Paul

    my C6 destroyed my engine

I'm not familiar with 'Free play" between flex plate and torque converter. The converter gets bolted directly to the flex plate. They are saying after the bell is married to the engine block there should be a bit of play between the TC and the plate so the TC IS NOT pushing on the crank. Paul

Coolant does not flow with thermostat installed

I think Don nailed it^^^ A blown head gasket, cracked head/block you would see steam out exhaust or the bubbles that rise to the top of the radiator that pop and release exhaust.

Coolant does not flow with thermostat installed

No Bubbles is great news!!! Back in the day my Stant cooling system pressure checker would also test radiator caps by means of an adapter and perhaps your cap is just letting the coolant out at low pressure? A temporary catch bottle would test for that. I know this is frustrating but it...

Coolant does not flow with thermostat installed

Still wondering if the cooling system is being pressurized by exhaust? You should do the look for exhaust bubbles test I mentioned earlier that would explain the coolant loss out the overflow. There sounds like there is still an issue with the T Stat/Restrictor post a photo of that. Hope its...

Coolant does not flow with thermostat installed

^^^Agreed where is the coolant going? Leaking it, burning it or its getting into the oil are the three choices. Remove the radiator cap Do U see bubbles coming up to the top of the radiator with engine running? Not unheard of for something to be up with the water pump impeller. Paul

    Lifter Bleed Down

So Ive had a mechanical oil pressure gauge installed for awhile now. In the morning I would crank the engine for 20 seconds or so to get the oil pressure up before Id let it fire. There would be 60 psi cold and then warm 20 idle 45 max. Lately when the car sat for 20 minutes or so I had...
