    1972 Convertible resto mod

I've been running long tube Hooker Competition headers on my Q-code 72 convertible for a couple decades without any scraping. You guys must have some large speed bumps!

At the window opening on the exterior side of the glass.

    Paint

The trunk area was originally finished with a gray splatter paint. When I repainted my 72, I painted the trunk the body color then finished it with the splatter paint.

    351 cleveland heads

They are D0AE-N 4V closed chamber heads. I would consider $1,200 on the high side for heads that need machine shop servicing. Have these been checked for cracks? Have the original valves been replaced? Guides and seats? Lots to consider before shelling out the asking price, from my point of view.

    71 Mach 1 Q code white wall tires ???

It very well could have. Your Marti report may tell you. If it lists 78 series tires they would either have been blackwall or whitewall. The 70 series would have been raised white letters.

1973 Convertible Project: Undercoating Decision Time

It's probably 3/16". It's fairly thick steel. I'd look at the one on my car but I'm out of the country currently. If you haven't found out by next weekend I will get you the measurements then.

    Unhappy With Holley Sniper

Learning to setup and tune a carburetor would solve a lot of problems people have with them.

1973 Convertible Project: Undercoating Decision Time

You can make one, but unless you have some scrap laying around it may be about the same cost. The factory piece has a beveled leading edge but it's not necessary.

Missing shields or fillers under the hood????

I think you're all good. New cars have so many panels for aerodynamics on them nowadays we don't expect to be able to see through to the ground; not so much back in the '70s!

1973 Convertible Project: Undercoating Decision Time

Looks like the mounting bracket off one of the old peanut can vacuum canisters. EDIT: https://www.npdlink.com/product/vacuum-canister-ac/103383/203284?year=1972

Vehicles For Sale Where to sell a 1971 Mach 1 429 SCJ?

Bring a Trailer would be my first recommendation, but check out the past Mustang auctions on the site to see how other 429s fared. You can set a reserve to protect it from selling too low. Also check out Hemmings and Hagerty. I'd say BJ or Mecum as a last resort.

My apologies, Vinnie. Thanks for sharing your garage; it provides inspiration for improvements I need to make to mine.

    Rust under Upper control arm

I'd repair the shock tower while it's apart, even if it was just to weld in some reinforcing where the rust holes have formed. Consider finding a different parts source in the future. Just my opinion.
