1973 Convertible Project: Undercoating Decision Time

I’ve been trying to figure out what door panels my car originally came with. I’ve got the Marti report, but it isn’t clear to me. I’ve also spent quite a bit of time searching the web for Conv interior pics, since I only have the seats and no other interior parts. Maybe it’s my poor search...

1973 Convertible Project: Undercoating Decision Time

I’ve finished going through the loose parts that came with my basket case car, and I have parts I cannot figure out. If you know, appreciate the help. I believe the first part is a timing pointer, but I have no engine that goes with it: This next part looks structural, thicker than just a...

1973 Convertible Project: Undercoating Decision Time

Ok, here’s a random question as I inventory the parts I have. Is the “turn signal” lever missing from this photo the same mechanism that actuates the tilt mechanism?

Help me decide... Delete heater system?

I think that’s fine, your car, your way. But, the next owner may not like you.

    Quicky interior question...

I think those pieces are outside the car, per se. So, I think it’s ok. If they have to remove something, I suspect they’ll do that anyway. BTW, do they know about the roll bar?

    Exhaust

I’ve never done a poll, but I suspect most of us took our cars to a muffler place to replace our systems. Now, if you want to put on a “stock” type of system or kit, you could do that. If you want something custom, I’d lean towards a shop. But, if you’ve got the will . . .

1973 Convertible Project: Undercoating Decision Time

Here’s my Marti Report: After cleaning and inventorying the parts I have, next month, I’ll start on cleaning the interior metal surfaces, as well as the undercarriage, so that I can partially restore and remove 50 years of grime. I’m pretty sure I’m going to swap everything I can from my 73...

    Marti Report List :

I just got my new project, and here is its Marti; one surprise, I didn’t know it has tilt! I wish I could run out and check it out, but it’s in Az and I’m in Ca:

AOD and existing Auto linkage question

Regarding your question @basstrix, the swap was very easy. On my stock 351c/FMX drivetrain, I purchased an aftermarket crossmember, and that’s all I had to do (because of the complete drivetrain swap I was doing). I’m no expert on flywheel weights, etc, so I don’t know if that has to change (I...

AOD and existing Auto linkage question

The reason I asked is, on the swap I did last year, I just used the cable shifter that came in the 87 TBird I swapped the drivetrain from. And I have a new project that will likely receive that drivetrain. But, I thought I would use the stock looking interior, and that means, using the stock...

    Engine Mount ID

As part of the stash of stuff I received with my 73 Vert were these two engine mounts. They clearly don’t belong on a Mustang, but the engine mounting points are correct for a SBF for sure. Does anyone recognize them so I can find them a new home?

AOD and existing Auto linkage question

This may be an old, already answered question, but has anyone installed an AOD behind their 302 and used the existing, stock auto trans linkage that came with your car?
