So, on my 73 Coupe, I’m replacing my stock package tray with a 1/2” MDF panel. I’m pretty sure I’m not going to use the original hold down brackets. So, I was thinking of attaching it from the bottom. Have others created an alternate to the stock fastners?

Does your regulator still have the external condenser on the side of it? It’s the radio condenser. I would disconnect it and see if it eliminates the draw. Also, as you’ve said, it could be a short or a stuck contact in the regulator. Just more things to check.

All I know is the 73 valance is a one year only part. I believe it will not fit unless you alter it. Others may know more, likely.

That sounds like the headlight switch light. It plugs from the top of the adapter, that fits between the switch and the backside of the dash. I don’t have a pic that shows it, but I suspect someone does.
