    My 1973 project daily driver

Yep. You are going to have a healthy idle. Fuel injection is a great way to keep the idle circuit more tolerable at the stoplight (less gas smell etc). I run big manual brakes that necessitate a 18" rim .... so vacuum isn't a concern for me. Car stops on a dime.... but be fair and don't...

    My 1973 project daily driver

Yep.... aluminum heads. First off.... they save weight... but realistically they dissipate heat better and with modern cad and CNC design they beat cast iron in flow and even cooling with better coolant flow passages within the head . Not to say cast iron heads are bad.... I've seen some that...

    My 1973 project daily driver

+1. Every hot rod I have ever had has been over 500 hp. All STREETABLE. It depends on the build. A 408 making 550 horspower is like 1.34 hp per cylinder. That's actually quite a low number. 550 hp.... using quality parts on the build is all damn day daily driven ok. Have a good radiator and...

    My 1973 project daily driver

I'm running a 408 stroker in my build. Making just north of 550hp. There I ran two new stainless fuel lines (one feed and one return) right next to each other in the stock routing location for the FiTech fiel injection. Attached a skatter shield and went with a TKX 5 speed manual transmission...

    DIY Headliner build

Looks good! Did the fabric layer go on in one piece or was there any cutting and gluing/sewing to get the shape right? How did you get it tucked behind the front windshield (I thought either the front or rear windshield had to come out for headliner installation)? This looks great..... I may...

Is this piece the same onmy 73 the same as a 71- 72

Hello. Wondering if this piece above the bumper on the rear side of the car is the same for all three years (71-73)? I have a 73 and am doing a 72 bumper conversion.... wondering if I need to buy a new set of these for the 71-2 conversion? Thanks!

Where do these spacers go on the rear bumper

Thanks Crush! So the washers go between the car body and the bumper bracket itself..... right? Also... had some of those spacers for the front fenders too..... are those as needed as well or do they loft the fenders up some to prevent rubbing on stuff?

Where do these spacers go on the rear bumper

Hello! These came in my rear bumper bracket kit (1972). Where do the wave washers and spacers go? Do the spacers go in-between the bumper and bracket or the bracket and car? Bought my car with no rear bumper so running blind. Maybe someone has an exploded diagram view? Thanks!

    Engine to damn tall.

Yeah, I've had sir filter setups exposed to outside air before. Not really an issue for me personally. K&N makes a pre-filter made for the rain, its embossed with silicone or some kind of witchcraft and it does a decent job or repelling water. Here is a link to an example...

    Engine to damn tall.

Thank you everyone for the replies, and to Rcadd1ct for the pics. Looks like I'm cutting a hole in my hood. I found a deal on a 429 hood scoop. I just need more church time to gather courage because I want the sweet baby Jesus with me when I do this.

    Engine to damn tall.

Yeah, that's a great suggestion, I'll keep that in mind if I decide to not cut the hood. Just a little nervous about cutting the hood as I dont want to ruin it.

    Engine to damn tall.

Yeah, that's what I have now. A drop base.

    Engine to damn tall.

Well. Crap. Mocked up my engine with low pro 14" air cleaner and it looks like it's to tall. Hood doesn't quite close all the way. I need more room (about 1/2 inch). I guess I could remove the filter top of the air cleaner and put a non filter flat top lid on the air cleaner, that would give...

Where do these rubber bumpers go?

Thanks all. I think I probably got sent some rubber bumpers that don't belong in my kit. I appreciate everyone's help!!

Where do these rubber bumpers go?

Thanks for the clues! For the small pointy ones, I was thinking glove box stopper and license plate stopper as I think 4 or 5 of the little guys came in the kit. The bigger one only had 2 in the bumper kit.... I do have 4 of the more elongated hood bumpers that I think go on the fender by the...
