    F-ing HOA issue!

Do you know where we can get a custom car cover? Read on…We received a letter from our HOA about my son’s ‘69 Mustang Coupe. It is a running, licensed, insured, regularly driven, and often complimented/purchase offered vehicle. The HOA claims it is an eyesore. “The paint is severely...

Looking for opinions on blackout alternative

Painting semi-gloss, low-gloss, and flat black on a flat surface (like the hood) where it looks right and does not have streaks or stripes is actually a bit challenging. The wrap would eliminate that issue, I am just not certain of the durability at the edges as I have more painting experience...

    60th Anniversary

Wow, I feel old now. I remember how excited I was to go to the 30th Anniversary show in Charlotte. Then during the show good old Bill showed up and the show went on lockdown for 3 1/2 hours. As for Birmingham—I really hadn’t been paying much attention as I hadn’t realized it was now 60 years...

I think this is a scam See this post: https://7173mustangs.com/threads/here-we-go-again-i-doubt-anyone-here-would-be-as-dumb-as-i-was-to-fall-for-th

After reading all the above it sounds fishy. But I do want to mention something: my son is interested in a car he saw online that has been posted for several weeks. My son messaged the seller and could see that the seller had read the messages, but no response. My son finally sent another...

    Blinker Fluid

Have you read the government warning on the new bottles of blinker fluid? It causes “lane-keeping assist” and ”seat shake” if it comes into contact with the steering mechanism.

Hot Rod Power Tour 2023 Recap

What a trip—I wish it was more West Coast once in a while. I would love to do this with my boys. Thanks for sharing!

    Need help, front end clunk

Jack the car up, put it on stands. Have someone grab one of the wheels top and bottom and slowly pull in/out top/bottom. Watch ever joint there is for a bit as they continue to shake the wheel top/bottom. Then do the other wheel same way. Be sure to do fore/aft to check steering linkage too...

    Classic Industries ?

I bought a radiator support for my son’s ‘94 Mustang GT from Classic. It fit OK, it did need a bit of tweek and there was an issue with mounting one of the airbag sensors that I had to work through, but otherwise it was a decent part for a aftermarket/repo.

    Clunk on front end

Look carefully. Mine used to clunk. I thought it was the lower ball joints. So I ordered new lower control arms and recruited my teenage son to help me. As we jacked the car up to install the new LCA’s I saw something move, then I told my son to grab the wheel top and bottom and shake it...

    How to price my mustang??

I have posted stuff for sale and stuff for free, it doesn’t seem to matter, the result is the same. Tons of time wasters and people who reply “is this still available” then vaporize. If anyone has a dumpster they want to get rid of, i am interested. Just post it on facebook marketplace and I...

    How to price my mustang??

Totally agree with the responses of how difficult FB and EBay are now. Craigslist I don’t even bother with. FB is really not any better. eBay screws the crap out of you with fees. On FB Mktplc, I had a set of FREE, yes, $0 rims and tires for a 94-95 Mustang GT I was trying to get rid of—I...

    Stinky |Tool Box

Some of mine are 40 years old now—I haven‘t noticed the odor but I am curious. If you drive by and see me sniffing my screwdrivers later, please don’t say anything.

    What would you do?

This was a “total loss” last December. It is my Son’s 1994 Mustang GT Convertible with a 5 speed. The insurance company paid us very well for the car, then told me it was mine to dispose of—which was rather odd based on my experience in the collision industry. They did give me a phone number...

    How I met my Mustang

The story of my ‘72 had some crazy, some poor decisions, some bad luck, and some incredible luck. But I’ve told that before. Today, the story of my ‘69. I was in high school and was daily driving a ‘65 Convertible. In late October 1985 I was involved in a traffic accident on the way to...

    RUN-INs WITH THE LAW

The Model A looks great with the ‘32 shell. Looks like you were hanging out with the Model A club in the picture. I sure wish I had your luck based on the stories you tell, my interactions with the law mostly ended badly, but it was often my own stupidity that put me there.

Did anyone see the B-21 Reveal Tonight?

I think they have an A-12 at the California Science Center. It is similar to the SR-71, but is a different aircraft that was built for the CIA‘s use.

Parts Wanted Fold Down Rear Seat Assembly

I was surprised that the fold down isn’t bolt in in the 71-73’s. I converted my ‘69 back in the day after sourcing every screw, bolt, latch and all the big parts from a wrecked fastback—that was easy. But once I bought my first Big Body car I realized it wouldn’t be as easy to do.

What other hobbies do you have?

I have had a number of hobbies—some I want to return to but have been focused on my kids. They are late teens but they are still hanging around. Most of my time beyond Mustangs over the past 12 years has been with my boys Soap Box Derby racing—I mean a lot of it. My oldest has sized out of...
