    Fabrice's 429CJ 71 project

Whouahhh what a job! If you are interested, as you look like to love to do them, I have the hood from the Mach 1 to be done :) I know how it's hard to work on it specially when you are alone, heavy and big. But it's good for your body isn't it?

    Rear wheels offset

Well done Fabrice!!! I measured the edge of the wing perpendicularly to the part behind the wheel and I have no difference between them.

    Rear wheels offset

That means that the transmission is not straight along the body? As if I look at the draw, the input shat (Toploader) is not in front of the rear axle yoke?

    Rear wheels offset

Detail: this car has a Dana 44 rear axle, exclusivly on those Mexican Mustangs. Merci Fabrice I will check that asap! Have you measured the distance of axle to leaf spring plate/pin to axle plate(with lug nuts) ? I don't know the exact names, but if wheel offset is same, I would think...

    Rear wheels offset

I change the rims by other ones and same difference. I did measure the wheels when I got the car as well, same thing.

    Rear wheels offset

Hi, I have a noticable difference between the right and left wheel. The right one is more outside than the left one. I check all what I can, and don't find any difference underneath ( leaf spring/drums, leafsprings/rear end). No spacer, same wheels width... Then last night I was thinking...

    Toploader

I'm always "alone" with 71/73 models, and you know what? I enjoy, lot of 65/68, 2 from 69. We are not common, like our cars ;) It's a Hurst shifter competition plus, new. Problem was that the shift tabs was to long, so they didn't let enough travel from the rods to engage well the gears (hope...

    Toploader

Car is on the road again, a few modifications were needed on the shift tabs. Then I could drive her to the monthly meeting.

    Toploader

Yes the shifter is an aftermarket one. I need to do something cause it not fits very well, need to do something I hate, to grind a piece of the talhousing to eliminate the space between the shifter and the mounting plate. For you Fabrice :)

    Toploader

Here is the Toploader in one piece. Looks work ok, all gears engage, the shifter is ajusted like it should. Next step is to reconnect the tranny and try it.

    Very special request

Many thanks David, my dad will appreciate, for sure the smell will remind us our 1983 travel to US. You should not leave your house? Or you don't have the obligation (authority) to leave the area? Well I saw the news this morning that the Hurricane is retrograded to 2, and is deviated to the...

I'm in the loop Fabrice ;) Still French plate on that car? (For the short story, I met Fabrice while I was driving back home from North of Holland).

    Hurricanes

Salut Fabrice, When I read 20"naturally I was thinking about half a meter per square meter.

    Hurricanes

I've been twice in the US. First time was in august 1983, Texas, I saw what was an Hurricane. Take care.
