I located an NOS power steering gear box for 71-73 Mustang. What is the likelihood that, after sitting on the shelf for 40+ years, the box will maintain its integrity and not fail under pressure? Thanks.

The buyautoparts.com outfit have both new and remanufactured boxes. Has anyone tried using a remanufactured box which comes with the normal 14.1 ratio, 4 turns to lock?

Is a 10.1 ratio too tight for normal driving?

Issue resolved: I approached the problem of no back-up lights with the (unexamined) assumption that the C-6 tranny contained both a Neutral Safety Switch AND a separate back-up light switch. My assumption was incorrect. The backup light switch is part and parcel of the NSS, not a separate...
