    Holley 4300 or 4300D

All 73 4V's came with the 4300D. In short if you have a squarebore it is a 4300. If spreadbore 4300D

From the top: ‘73 Q code convertible

Looks like some type of epoxy was used to "fix" a fuel leak.

    Sooty day’s...

I am no expert but I ran a Q-jet for several years mostly because I wanted to learn about them. One of the differences between a Q-jet and a Holley style carb is that the Q-jet idle and transition circuits have a much smaller range of influence on part throttle driving. This is because the Q-jet...

    Carb Suggestion/Recommendation

600 cfm vacuum secondary should do the trick.

    Sooty day’s...

That is the Adjustable Part Throttle screw (APT). It controls how deep in the main jet the rod is set. By raising or lowering the rod in the jet there is a small range of adjustment for part throttle main jet air fuel mixture. It doesn't effect the idle circuit.

How Many Cranks Til Your Mach Starts?

What kind of carb? You need to figure out what is going on with the choke. Have you tried adjusting it? You should be able to turn the choke cap by hand so that the choke is fully open. Also, if you tuned the carb with the choke being only 1/4 open then you likely are going to have to re-visit...

    Circle Track Overheating Issue 351C

Not sure this is pertinent but some of the aftermarket chicom aluminum water pumps do not have the bypass hole drilled and that can result in cooling issues.

    Leaking carburettor ( 4150)

Can you tell exactly where it is leaking from? The regular Holley blue non-stick gaskets are made to withstand fuels with alcohol. My car sits for months at a time and doesn't see very many miles each year and I have had the same gaskets in it for years with no issues.

WHAT DISTIBUTOR AND COIL IS ON YOUR 351 C

Yes the recurved part is an important point with a reman. The OOTB ignition curve is generally not suitable for a performance application. Also, the vacuum advance usually provides too much timing too soon and needs to be limited.

WHAT DISTIBUTOR AND COIL IS ON YOUR 351 C

I have a 460 but the ignition components are interchangeable. Duraspark distributor, MSD 6A box and TFI coil.

Starved for fuel or too much fuel?

+1 a blue cam a 37 squiter will usually cure most hiccups provided the pump arm is adjusted properly.

    Headers for 460 BBF ?

I have the FPA headers. They are a little pricey but they fit ok. I had to do minor clearancing on one tube at the steering box. Mustangs Unlimited has all the engine mount components for the BBF.

Who could hate on such an accomplishment?  Frankly I am jealous! Beautiful car!

    351c 2v Cam advice

That carb and basically all Holley style carbs made since the 90's have a backfire protection check valve so it is extremely unlikely the power valve diaphragm is ruptured.

    1972 mach 1

Its a cleveland with 2V heads so nothing special drivetrain wise.

    351c 2v Cam advice

Can you be a little more specific as to the exact symptom? Runs like **** covers a lot of ground. If it is stumbling when you floor it the accelerator pump probably needs attention and/or the secondaries are opening too soon.
