Exhaust System Kits and other questions

I ran the stock 2 1/4" style system for a good number of years, and felt the crush bends was not doing well performance wise. I once had a spark plug blowout and some of the porcelain went down inside. Well I guess (the only way it could) is a piece went by the intake heated cross over into the...

    new shocks advice

This is something that occurred after the top shock mount went stud where as older style eye loop could hold it in place. It's not the spring fault. Its the bottom spring saddle. Sometime in the early 60's, Ford changed from a bronze to a rubber saddle bushing. The bronze was greaseable and...

Spring is just around the corner!

NJ and home prices and later taxes made it near impossible in the 70's for the younger folks to start out. So we keep moving west. It was surprising after moving 3 times that later too find out that you know your neighbor from NJ 50 years ago when we were all kids..

Spring is just around the corner!

I ordered my original 72 Mach and picked up the first day of spring from dealership in Newton, NJ. Moved that summer to Saylorsburg PA and raised a family till we moved again in 96. Wasn't the winters for the moves as much for work at the times, but looking back winters really suck and there...

    new shocks advice

I been running KYB's on both cars for years. They been good for what they cost. The only problem is I bought the one's recommended and ended up with the shorter (when fully extended) front shock. they pull the top bushing and splits it when the car on the lift. The longer shock leaves less...

    quick fuel

My DP 650 holley has never been a problem on my 72, but the two SA always a problem. The 67 has the same engine everything and yes limited 34 deg total timing , The 670SA HAS been drilled and 50cc pump added for the late stumble different power valves, a lot of different squirters, cams...

    quick fuel

Let us know if the Quick fuel works out. I've been running 770 SA on one car, and yes its very sensitive to change, and the 670 SA I just gave up on. Never been happy with the SA series. Been going to maybe try Summits copy of 4100 show box carb. The money I got tied up in both SA carbs with...

    mufflers

I had the Flow Delta 50 on the 72 for a few years and didn't care much for the drone. They will fit but tight. The out pipe bend needs to be short to go up over the axle. Now I run a 2010 GT style muffler. but then again it needs a lot of rework to fit.

    72 351c 2v air cleaner

Had the carb off back in the early 70's and went to bump the starter (for what ever reason). It started running and realize I just invented fuel injection. YES THAT"S RIGHT..... I had the first mechanical fuel injected (MFI) 72 351C mach1 with that gas line pointed at where the carb should have...

    1972 sales brochure error

As an old guy, I never noticed that when I ordered my 72, but then again I was all caught up in the 70's time frame

    Lincoln Continental brake swap ?

Most of the big Lincoln's used a big rear axle bearing (like a pickup 9"). And some cars had 9 3/8" ring gears others 9". And if they had the big bearing didn't always mean a 31 spline axle as a lot axles got machined down to 28 spline ends. No real pattern as to why Ford did things on the...

    Improved Handling Option

Just a constant ratio p/s for the mach's . Variable ratio if with comp. susp. What I noticed collecting p/s Saginaw boxes over the years is some mach's got a different constant ratio box. Some were 4 turns others were 5 lock to lock, but they all still had the same metal tag code. Anybody...
