I think I'll get a temp sensor that's all crusted up from autozone and see about getting one as a loaner. Yall keep this saving me money stuff up I may someday get a cool paint job. Bwhahahahahah Baby steps Bro, baby steps...
Guys just saved me $30 and possibly a deprived bottom end. It was a high volume oil pump I was looking at. THANK YOU!!! Again I'd like to stress how FRIENDLY and helpful this site is. Even with boot camps like me. I so appreciate you guys patience and the willingness to help is overwhelming. So...
I cleaned up the other half of the block (passenger side 5-8??) last night. The welded spot was just some thick rust. All the ports opened up just fine but still a little concerned about particles. Surely there a flush to take care of most of that.
Getting my wish list on Summit together...
Ya know there's probably a different list for everyone. Like my drive train and brakes have to be first since there's a slight slope on the driveway backing out of the garage. A lot of it for me is how much room I have too. Best of luck and look forward to seeing the progress as she comes together.
I didn't find any sealer between the heads and the block. It may be the first time they have been off and Jeff's take on this pistons looking stock/reg bore seem to point that way to.
I'll ask Justin about the valves. And need to quiz him on the springs too.
Think I'll take a grinding stone to...
Shoot me a PM with a price Jeff. I'm always considering upgrades. LOL Thanks for the info on pistons. I'll go with the stock gaskets. Good news is all the piston walls are very smooth.

What I'm looking for from this motor:
Mainly right now just crank and run but hope rebuilding this top end and going to 4v with the parts already acquired and ones to be purchased will allow a strong motor...
Thanks a ton! I do like that look of the white detail on the hood and have been wondering since I saw this pic what it would look like. That's my choice, if I ever get around to body work. LOL Thanks again.
Not looking for a daily driver but would like to be able to just say one morning drive the stang to work. That's some low rpm driving. Would like a car that could hold its own on the road. Hate it when rice burners jump off at a light. Burn some tires. She won't be a perfect restore where...
The offers and generosity of this group never ceases to amaze me. I took a little time this morning to pull my intake manifold off while promptly throwing that 2 barrel in the scrap pile.
Glad that carb didn't work.
Think thats #5 or #6
I dropped a brick in my pants when I saw it missing...
