    Remanufactured 302?

Thanks for that. It may be that I just need to break it down a little and check out what parts were used to build it up. I was most interested in compression ratio, cam profile etc. I should be able to figure out the heads if they have casting #’s I plan on doing a gasket/seal refresh anyway...

    Remanufactured 302?

I pulled a 302 engine out of ny parts car as according to the paperwork that came with the car it was installed less than 10,000 miles ago. It seems like a no brainer as the current engine has 150K on it or more. I wanted to do a little research on what I am putting in however, there seems to...

    Engine pull! Elation to frustration…

So I pulled the 302 out of my sons ‘72 coupe. I have pulled engines many times, but never out of a car with a 6 foot nose. My hoist barely reached the engine lift points without hitting the bumper and even with the boom extended to the 1/4 ton hole. I was lifting the engine and trans as a unit...

Rear glass trim install help needed

Gents, I am having a heck of a time trying to install the aluminum trim that surrounds the glass on a 72 coupe. I bought all new clips, but for the life of me I can’t get them to clip over the trim. Is there a trick to it? I assume I am doing something wrong. I spent 2 hrs trying to install...

    Rear inner quarter trim extension

For the life of me I cannot see how these bolt up. I only see one hole that doesn’t quite line up to the trim and nothing else. One was missing on thecar when I got it and the other was held on by one screw and it was wrong anyway. I didn’t pay attention when I removed it can anyone help?

    Carpet install, glue or not?

Well that’s one for no glue, Thanks Tom. How was it done from the factory? I can’t see any reason that I would need to peel up carpet. Any after wiring I can go through the kick panels and under the sill plate.

    Carpet install, glue or not?

Installing carpet, do you guys glue it down or just use the trim and seats to hold it in place? Thanks, Ron

    C4 to manual swap

I did some poking around under the grande parts car and looked at the tag on the Tremec T-5 The number on the tag is 1352-249. From my research it’s a close ratio trans with a .63 overdrive. While I am happy with the ratios I don’t know how a .63 with a 3.00:1 axle ratio is going to do behind a...

    Windlace help

Well now I have 16ft of it. Funny thing is I bought it to hold the new headliner in around the doors after it was installed and glued in place. I would have used it instead of clips and magnets had I known it was useless for this car. Thanks for the reply. Getting smarter every day. Ron

    Windlace help

Well, I guess the reason nobody responded is that there is no windlace, at least not for the coupe. I wonder why it’s advertised for 71-73? CJ’s stuck it to this newb. Ron

    How to reach behind dash!!

Do you have kids? When mine were small I could show them what I needed done and they could get their tiny fingers and arms into places I couldn’t reach.

    Windlace help

Doing a headliner on a 72 coupe. I am wondering where the windlace goes. The car didn’t have any when I removed the old headliner. I assume it goes around the c channel from the quarter window and all away around the upper door window channel. Seeing as my car had none I am having trouble...

How to identify 71/72 fenders from 73?

For those uneducated like myself, how do you tell the difference. The passenger side has a bracket on it, but looks easily removable. Maybe it needs to be there regardless? Just wondering.

    Rear floor sheet metal replacement

Thanks, It looks good enough :classic_biggrin: I am not an experienced welder, but I made good penetration where needed and it’s solid and not going anywhere. It definitely has more welds than from the factory.   I am just happy it’s over with. Thanks for commenting.

    Rear floor sheet metal replacement

Floor pans and patch work on the rear complete. I’d say roughly 50hrs of work over the course of a week. I decided to patch the rear as I had the weld steel and wasn’t really worried about it ever being seen. Probably would have saved time installing the ‘70 panels though. It’s not something I...
