How to reach behind dash!!

With my fat fingers$stomach, I cannot reach behind center stack to reconnect HVAC elec. or vacuum connectors. How hell did ford do this on assembly line?

They hired a bunch of munchkins!
Trust me, it's not easy for a smaller guy like myself to get under and behind the dash. I usually find it easier to pull the seat(s) out, then wriggle in on my back.
I would think most connections would be done before the complete dash was installed, same as they do today.

Do you have kids?

When mine were small I could show them what I needed done and they could get their tiny fingers and arms into places I couldn’t reach.

I find you need to remove the radio assembly, remove the screws holding the center stack in place, pull/ tilt the center stack away so you can reach the back side of the heater AC controls. May need to disconnect the temperature adjustment cable from the area behind/below the glove box also.

It can help to remove the dash pad and the metal dash top. If nothing else you will have more light to see what you are doing.
