    boss 351

A spinning part can weigh more but if its balanced the same all its doing is adding inertia. I think any 351C balancer will work as long as its the 28 oz. imbalance variety. If I remember correctly the difference between the Boss and non-Boss flywheels is the Boss used a larger clutch so the...

    Fan Blade Disintegrated at 4,000RPM

That sucks! I have no faith in any flex fan and will never use one. I had a freind who had one fail on his freshly painted International pickup. Two blades came off, one went through the side of the hood the other straight through the top, tore through the metal like a can opener. Be thankful...

Small Block Ford Edelbrock X-F8 Intake ($850) and Pair of Holley List 9776 Carburetors ($550) in SE MI

Yes I have. I deserve a larger discount. Sold the intake on Ebay. I have not sold anything on there in a while, it cost me $90+ to sell it, that seems excessive...

Small Block Ford Edelbrock X-F8 Intake ($850) and Pair of Holley List 9776 Carburetors ($550) in SE MI

Ha, thanks. I was kicking around building a vintage looking small block for a 56 Ford I had but that never materialized so this stuff has been sitting around for years...

Vibration when running engine at 1200-1700 rpm’s and crusing about the same.

Glad the issue got corrected. Its always good to hear what the root cause was, especially when so many ideas were thrown out there.

    2 questions on the seats

Unfortunately I have no idea, I haven't been down this road before. I quick Amazon search turned up this, for the amount of reviews it has it still has a very high rating...

    2 questions on the seats

While the answer to #1 is 'yes,' to Fabrice's point- is the seat cover material strong enough to use after the repair? The vinyl looks dry and brittle, I would be concerned that it would just tear or fail somewhere else after you spent time fixing that area. For #2, I think the foam was...

Help locating a custom end link clamp

There's probably a tool & die shop or small machine/ fab shop local to you that could make them up for you for probably $100 give or take. If you could whip up a simple drawing and show them a photo they could probably wing it from there. I'm lazy, sometimes paying a little bit more and getting...

Help locating a custom end link clamp

I can't find anything exactly like what you need but this seems close albeit with no details on bar size or fastener size: https://howeracing.com/collections/stabilizer-anti-sway-bars/products/sway-bar-eyelet-clamp-rear-rr Howe is a traditional roundy-round racer hardware supplier, I wouldn't...

Nothing fits like OEM, and those look nice enough. Plus you won't be paranoid about damaging them. Looking good!

    General information on Car lifts?

My $0.02 on the lift question is to be honest about how you will use it. If you use it to work on stuff then get a two-post. If you don't get into a lot of stuff then the drive-on provides an extra parking spot (although I have parked my 71 on the lift, raised, over the winter). I have a Rotary...

    Marti Auto email?

I would suggest to keep calling them. Since Covid they have been struggling and it takes a few tries to get hold of them.

    351c earlies cast date.

H is August right? I would have to guess that the foundry would have started casting blocks and heads in May or June in order for the pipeline to be full of engines to support building cars mid-July.

    ’71 Mach 1 Resto Project

Your car looks great! I wish I had realized that Marti did buck tags, I would have gotten one for my car when I had him make me a new VIN tag for the dash!

Vehicles For Sale Where to sell a 1971 Mach 1 429 SCJ?

Check Ebay. There's usualy a couple 429 cars on there. Not exactly a real value as most times they are dealer offerings. Wherever you decide to list it you will get asked about whether or not the engine and trans are original to the car. Obviously the original VIN stamped block and trans will...

    Lower Control Arm Bushing

I wouldn't hesitate to put some healthy tacks on it to hold it in place. Just hit it with a wet rag after you weld and it will be fine.

    $20k-$30k for a paint job?

They are only original once. In my opinion a good condition, original paint car has much more value than a fresh re-spray, even if the re-spray is good quality. You can hide a lot of nasty things under fresh paint... @Nightbeacon your convertible looks great!
